Thirty years of looms, one contact in Sydney.
Rugaaya connects Australian interior designers directly with the workshop that makes the rugs.
Rugaaya is based in Sydney. The rugs are made in India, in a workshop built on more than thirty years of rug production and long-standing artisan networks.
India produces roughly 40% of the world’s handmade rugs, which makes it the centre of the craft. It is also a long way from a Sydney studio, and most designers reach it through several intermediaries.
That distance is where specifications degrade. Sizes get rounded to the nearest standard, colours get approximated to the nearest stocked yarn, and lead times get quoted as ranges nobody stands behind.
We are a new business in Australia and we are not going to claim a client list we do not have. What we can show you is the collection, the specifications, and a physical sample in your palette before you commit to anything.
